Message: “Courage to Tell” from Alan Platt

A message from the series “Courage.” This message is brought by Alan Platt, Visionary Leader and Father of the Doxa Deo Ministry.

This was the first time Alan and Leana have been able to stop by the UK in quite some time and we were delighted for Alan to be on our pulpit.
…..but here’s today’s Message Notes

COURAGE WEEK 2 – Courage to Tell…..What to say When!
How do I know what to say when?
ACTS 2: 14-41
14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them, “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words. 15 For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day. 16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:

22 “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know— 23 Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; 24 whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it. 25 For David says concerning Him:

29 “Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. 30 Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne, 31 he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption. 32 This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses. 33 Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear.
34 “For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he says himself:

36 “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”
37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?”
38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”
40 And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.” 41 Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.

Message: “When you care enough” from Cheray Dekas

A message from the series “the Lost & Found Department.” ~JOHN 17: 14-16
My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.

~EPHESIANS 1: 25
The church is Christ’s body, in which he speaks and acts,
by which he fills everything with his presence.

~JOHN 9: 5
While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

~LUKE 15: 1-7
Now the tax collectors and sinners were all gathering around to hear Jesus. But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” Then Jesus told them this parable: “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

3 marks of our SHEPHERD:
a. Searches for his sheep
b. knows his own – these sheep belong to him
c. Takes responsibility

~PSALM 23: 1
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Jesus shared his Motivation of his heart, HIs compassion compelled him because THE LOST SHEEP IS HIS.
All 100 sheep are his , not only the 99.
This is why he comes and searches for those who are lost because he says “You are Mine”

Question
Do you belong to God because he redeemed you, Or did God redeem you because you belong to him?

~ISAIAH 40: 1
Now this is what the Lord says— the one who created you, Jacob, and the one who formed you, Israel— “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are mine.

What is your response ?
1. What is your response when you think about the lost sheep?
2. Do you see others as heathen/foreigner/alien or a LOST SHEEP of the fold you belong to?
We don’t judge the lost, we have compassion for HIS LOST SHEEP…
3. Can you remember what it felt like to be lost.? When you were found?

John 17:14-16 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.

Message: “ASK Week 3 – Knock” from Matt France

A message from the series “ASK.” Today we gathered in our Church-At-Home Hotspots and Matt rounds up with the final part of our 3week series called ASK – which is all to do with prayer!

For more info please head to www.ddcc.org.uk and email us for prayer today on [email protected]

….Here’s the Message Notes to follow along today!

====Through ASK we are connecting My own Faith with the the one who answers Prayer===
~MATTHEW 7: 7 [ESV]
“Ask, and it will be given to you;
seek, and you will find;
knock, and it will be opened to you.”

4 LESSONS AROUND KNOCKING

1: Knocking is a PRINCIPLE
Gk. strike, beat in order to gain admittance
~MATTHEW 7: 8 [ESV]
“For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.”
everyone who asks,
the one who seeks,
to the one who knocks….

Knocking is a principle where Faith and Obedience Collide

2: Knocking is PERSONAL
~MATTHEW 6: 5-8 [ESV]
when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut [Gk. kleio – lock] the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Cultivate the relationship with God and your faith with his
Knocking is a personal action where Faith and Obedience Collide

3: Knocking is PERSISTENT
~LUKE 11: 5-10 [TPT]
Then Jesus gave this illustration: “Imagine what would happen if you were to go to one of your friends in the middle of the night, pound on his door, and shout, ‘Please! Do you have some food you can spare? A friend just arrived at my house unexpectedly and I have nothing to serve him.’ But your friend says, ‘Why are you bothering me? The door is locked and my family and I are all in bed. Do you expect me to get up and give you our food?’ I tell you—because of your shameless persistence, even though it’s the middle of the night, your friend will get up out of his bed and give you all that you need. So it is with your prayers. Ask and you’ll receive. Seek and you’ll discover. Knock on heaven’s door, and it will open for you. Every persistent person will receive what he asks for. Every persistent seeker will discover what he needs. And everyone who knocks persistently will one day find an open door.

Knocking is the persistent action where your Faith and Obedience Collide

4: Jesus will Personally enter in wherever the door gets opened to him
~REVELATION 3: 20-22 [ESV]
20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. 21 The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’”

This is a Call to discover urgency in being a NEW CREATION, how MY FAITH and OBEDIENCE collide in Jesus to live fully alive today, fully sure of who God created in me, fully sure of my today and tomorrows…..

Message: “Faith is Rising” from Matt France

A message from the series “Faith Is Rising.” Welcome to Doxa Deo Community Church, Kingston Campus!
Whether you’re new or super familiar with the family; a devoted follower of Jesus or someone who isn’t quite sure yet what to think and believe, we are so happy you are here

Follow the Message Notes below with the passages to read

FAITH IS RISING
What have we heard from God?

1. God has always wanted people to know Him personally
“I am the Way, I am the Truth, and I am the Life. No one comes next to the Father except through faith in me.”
~JOHN 14: 6 TPT

“Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.”
~JOHN 14: 9 ESV

2. God has always wanted people to share Him personally
But in your hearts set Christ apart [as holy—acknowledging Him, giving Him first place in your lives] as Lord. Always be ready to give a [logical] defence to anyone who asks you to account for the hope and confident assurance [elicited by faith] that is within you, yet [do it] with gentleness and respect.
~1 PETER 3: 15 AMP

The Holy Spirit is the one who saves but God works in us and through us.

3. Surrendering to Jesus is the doorway to walking in Newness
For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.
Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
~1 CORINTHIANS 5: 14-17 ESV

4. People with Expectation will see Faith Rise
We need to walk with God in relationship
We need to be ready to share the reason for our hope
We need to live in surrender

A story from the old testament:
14 So when the people set out from their tents to pass over the Jordan with the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people, 15 and as soon as those bearing the ark had come as far as the Jordan, and the feet of the priests bearing the ark were dipped in the brink of the water (now the Jordan overflows all its banks throughout the time of harvest), 16 the waters coming down from above stood and rose up in a heap very far away, at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan, and those flowing down toward the Sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, were completely cut off. And the people passed over opposite Jericho. 17 Now the priests bearing the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firmly on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan, and all Israel was passing over on dry ground until all the nation finished passing over the Jordan.
